Reasons you should get the flu shot….
The flu shot is your family’s best defense against the flu: The first and most important step in preventing the flu is to get a flu vaccine every year. The flu virus is spread through contact with infected people, so getting the flu shot protects you and those you love. Remember, the flu shot can’t give you the flu!
The flu can be very dangerous: The flu hospitalizes about 200,00 people yearly and there are approximately 36,000 people who die each year. The flu is especially dangerous for the elderly, the very young and those with heart or lung problems.
Free Flu Shot Information:
Free flu shots will be available for Veterans enrolled in the VA Maryland Health Care System beginning October 1, 2019.
A Walk-in Flu Clinic will be held at the Baltimore VA Medical Center on the second floor behind the elevators Monday through Friday (except Federal Holidays) from October 1st through December 20, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Flu vaccines are given in your upper arm, please wear clothing that will allow easy access to your upper arm.
