Veterans Creative Arts Competition (VAMHCS)
The Veterans Creative Arts Competition is a national event that highlights the creative talents of our nations Veterans and the important role that the creative arts plays in their recovery and wellness. Local creative arts competition first place winning entries advance to a national judging process and first, second and third place entries in each category are determined. Selected gold-medal-winning Veterans are invited to attend the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival hosted by a different VA facility each year.
The VAMHCS will be hosting a virtual competition this year in the effort to support the continued safety of all Veterans and VA staff. Due date for entries is June 18th, 2021. Winners will be announced online the week of July 12th-16th, 2021 with each day highlighting a different aspect of the competition.

As part of our virtual event, this year we are inviting Veterans to submit a short video testimonial answering the question:
How are you involved in creative arts and how does it help you in your health and wellness?
These videos will kickstart our virtual event and allow us to put a face to our participating Veterans. Information about recording a testimonial can be found under Resources.
Veterans entering in the creative writing division are also invited to submit a video recording of them reading their piece. These entries will only be judged on writing content. If you wish to be judged on your reading performance, please submit in the drama division.
