Celebrating Veteran Artists

A Veterans Visual Arts Exhibit took place on Wed., Feb. 17 at the Perry Point Gym.
Sponsored by Recreational Therapy, the competition is an annual event that provides Veterans who are enrolled within the VAMHCS the opportunity to participate in creative self-expression in art, creative writing, dance, drama and music as part of their therapy, and to gain recognition for these artistic accomplishments. Veterans enrolled in VA health care in Maryland submitted more than 30 entries in the 5 Divisions of Music, Dance, Drama, Creative Writing, and Art. The first place winners will move on to be judged nationally against other Veterans across the country in their category
First place category winners from our local competition may be invited to attend the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival, hosted this year by the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC in Jackson, MS October 10-17, 2016.
