The medical center offers
long and short-term inpatient mental health
care, including an inpatient alcohol and
substance abuse treatment program that
is unique in the Mid-Atlantic region. A
new inpatient mental health care facility
offers specialized treatment programs,
rehabilitation services and enhanced patient
privacy for veterans in a comfortable,
state-of-the-art setting. The medical center
also offers a full range of inpatient medical,
intermediate and long-term care programs,
including nursing home care, low-level
rehabilitation, geriatric evaluation and
management, respite care, chronic ventilator
care and hospice care.
A newly renovated 50-bed domiciliary care
program helps to rehabilitate homeless
veterans through counseling, job assistance
and home placement. The medical center
is also home to a new and innovative substance
abuse residential rehabilitation treatment
program, which is an intensive outpatient
program for veterans with drug and alcohol
addictions.
The
Perry Point VA Medical Center provides
primary care and specialty outpatient
services in a new outpatient care facility that was designed and constructed
to better meet the needs of veterans by offering the latest medical
technology, expanded clinical space and comfortable waiting areas and
exam rooms.
The Perry Point VA Medical Center is located
on a beautiful campus of approximately
400 acres on the banks of the Susquehanna
River and the Chesapeake Bay where patients
can enjoy a variety of recreational activities,
including fishing, swimming, bicycling
and jogging. There is ample, free parking
on the grounds of the medical center, which
is conveniently located just off of I-95
and U.S. Route 40. A shuttle service is
available weekdays to and from the Baltimore
VA Medical Center.
