Regina R. Litvin, newly appointed space planner for the VA Maryland Health Care System.

Regina R. Litvin, a resident of Churchville, Md., has been appointed as the space planner for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Maryland Health Care System.  Litvin is responsible for creating short and long term space management plans for the three million square foot VA Maryland Health Care System campuses.  This health care system includes the Baltimore and Perry Point VA Medical Centers, the Baltimore VA Rehabilitation & Extended Care Center, and five community based outpatient clinics located throughout the state. 

As the space planner, Litvin will work closely with senior management to establish funding priorities for all space related issues to include the areas of sharing and contracting, construction coordination and resource development.  She will also develop and oversee processes for interior space projects in alignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs’ mission to continuously improve the quality and safety for a veteran patient centered health care organization.

Litvin brings to her new position a wealth of professional management development training in leadership, resource management, career development, organizational behavior, project management, team building, statistics, risk management and computer applications.

Litvin, who received her Bachelor of Science degree at Loyola College and her Master’s in Business Management at Johns Hopkins University, began her career in 1987 as an industrial hygienist with Aerosol Monitoring and Analysis, an environmental services consulting firm located in Hunt Valley, Md.  From 1988 to 1991, she worked at the former Fort Howard VA Medical Center as an industrial hygienist.  Prior to her appointment as the space planner for the VA Maryland Health Care System, Litvin served as a program management consultant for Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health at the U.S. Medical Commander Center in Aberdeen, Md.
