VA Maryland Health Care System Appoints Stephen Armagon as Site Manager for Loch Raven Campus Home > Publications > News Releases > 2008 News Releases > April 16, 2008 Baltimore - Stephen Armagon, a resident of Severn, Md., has been appointed site manager of the Loch Raven campus for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Maryland Health Care System. As the site manager, Armagon will serve as the senior administrative officer with overall responsibility for providing leadership support and oversight to the clinical and administrative services and programs on the Loch Raven campus. The Loch Raven campus, which is located at the intersection of Loch Raven Boulevard and The Alameda in northern Baltimore City, is one of three inpatient campuses throughout the VA Maryland Health Care System. The largest program on the campus is the 120-bed Baltimore VA Rehabilitation & Extended Care Center, which provides geriatric psychiatry, rehabilitation and post-acute care to Maryland’s veterans. The center also provides hospice and nursing home care to veterans requiring non-acute inpatient care, in addition to offering specialized treatment for patients with dementia. Other major programs on the campus include the Loch Raven VA Outpatient Clinic, the Home Based Primary Care Program, the Office of VA Regional Counsel, an orthotics lab, and a driver rehabilitation program. Armagon began his career with the VA Maryland Health Care System in January 2006 as the executive assistant to the associate director for operations. Prior to his VA appointment, Armagon served for 26 years as a health services management administrator in the U.S. Air Force Medical Service. He has performed duties and missions in more than 16 states across the U.S. and 15 countries across Europe, Southwest Asia and Africa. He possesses a wealth of experience leading medics in both peacetime and wartime environments. In his final military assignment, Armagon served as a member of the executive board at Malcolm Grow Medical Center at Andrews Air Force Base from 2000 to 2005. |
