Military Order of the Purple Heart Contributes
$2,000 for Veteran Patients at the VA Maryland Health Care System
The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Department of Maryland, recently donated $2,000 to support hospitalized veterans throughout the Veterans Affairs (VA) Maryland Health Care System.
A total of $1,000 was donated to the Baltimore VA Medical Center for new swing-arm televisions for two inpatient medical care units. With younger veterans entering VA health care facilities and sharing rooms with older veterans, it can be challenging for them to come to an agreement on television programming due to generational differences. The placement of flat screen televisions by each patient bed will eliminate this challenge and allow hospitalized veteran patients to make individual viewing choices.
Another $1,000 was donated to the Baltimore VA Rehabilitation & Extended Care Center to support programs and services that enhance the quality of care and comfort provided to veterans during their periods of hospitalization
