Eliot Siegel, MD, was named as one of the “Medical Imaging Industry Top 10” radiologists in the April 2007 issue of Medical Imaging Magazine.

The magazine’s readers voted on practicing radiologists based on research, cutting-edge techniques, patient care and outcomes and industry interaction. Dr. Siegel is credited with building the nation’s first filmless medical imaging operation at the Baltimore VA Medical Center in 1993 and has devoted much of his career to advancing radiology from film to digital imaging.

Congratulations to Federal Executive Board Winners, Eliot Siegel, MD, chief, Imaging Service, VAMHCS, and John Clisham, Facilities & Engineering Service, Perry Point. Dr. Siegel was a Bronze winner in the category for Outstanding Supervisor, Grades 13 and above. Mr. Clisham was also a Bronze winner in the category for Outstanding Supervisor, Grades 12 and below.

The VAMHCS nominated the following individuals for the Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Nursing: Mary Dellario, RN, (advanced practice nursing); Julie Konrad, RN, (registered nursing); Francia C. Dialino-Aurellanlo, LPN, (licensed practical nursing); and Gerald Foster, NA, (nursing assistant).

Jack Monas, a volunteer at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, was chosen as one of the 2007 Volunteer Hero Winners for the Health Care Hero Awards sponsored by The Daily Record. Jack has served with the Baltimore VA since March 2000 and has contributed over 3,700 hours of service!
